About Us
| Feedback ] We assist industry and commercial entities with insect related problems whether these problems are pest related or pollination related. We offer research on pollination problems and consulting services.
Bee management
includes advising growers on bee species, nest or colony placement, timing
of colony placement, bee density, and assessing colony strength to optimize
pollination and crop yield, and to minimize pollination costs. Crop
pollination issues are related to problems with fruit set and poor yields
of field and greenhouse crops.
For the greenhouse industry the company has recently (1999) investigated the use of honey bees and alfalfa leafcutter bees for pollinating tomatoes. The affect of pollination levels and the resultant expression of bushy dwarf virus was studied for the raspberry industry. Owner/operater Dr. Margriet Dogterom has 20+ years of problem solving skills related to commercial ventures. She has experience in fieldwork and research experience with mason bees, honey bees, bumble bees and leafcutter bees. Her experience includes managing these four different bee species for crop pollination and working with commercial growers in the blueberry, cranberry and greenhouse industries. Crop Pollination Consultants Ltd. was incorporated with The Registrar of Companies on April 19th, 1999. StaffMargriet Dogterom Ph.
